About our training sessions

All of the online sessions below are delivered as online webinars.

Sessions are 2 hours or less.  We like to keep these short and powerful so staff retain what they learn. 
 

We have recommended who should attend the training however we know every practice runs differently, feel free to invite whoever needs to join the sessions! If needed, we can also rearrange the order of training.

 

Administrator Training

Who: Admin Staff / Workflow Manager / Practice Manager

 

In this session you will learn how to manage client records including; creating new clients, setting up groups, updating information, managing documents and notes, understand important fields, archiving and merging of records.

 

You will also learn how to manage jobs including; adding new jobs, updating key information, tracking workflow, updating job progress, staff allocation, managing documents and notes, completing jobs.

 

Administration of staff timesheets will also be covered including; unlocking submitted time, entering time credits (glide time etc), and general timesheet management for the practice.

General Use, Navigation & Timesheets

Who: All Staff

 

This session includes accessing XPM for the first time, resetting your password, an overview of the dashboard, general menu and application navigation, methods for entering timesheets, keeping track and updating the status of allocated jobs.

Managing WIP & Preparing Invoices

Who: Staff / Managers / Partners who prepare invoices

 

In this session you will see how to find and view work in progress values for clients (in app menu, reports, custom reports), prepare and issue invoices through various methods (deposit / interim fees, quoted / fixed fees, WIP fees, repeating invoices), understand the process of invoicing through Xero Practice Manager, and troubleshoot invoices that need attention.

Debtor Management

Who: Debtors Clerks / Admin Staff / Practice Manager

 

This session covers how to use Xero's tools to control your debtors, understand the integration behind Xero and Xero Practice Manager, be able to reconcile payments from customers, view aged receivables, send statements to customers, issue credits and be able to troubleshoot sales invoices / payments that need attention.

Tax Return Preparation

(NZ Only)

Who: All Staff who prepare tax returns

 

Process Tax Returns with lightning speed (well not quite but it's pretty quick). Learn how to quickly process Income Tax and GST returns using Practice Manager, understand the IR10 automation with Xero (and how to get the best success), understand the key client fields relative to successful tax returns, learn the GST sync with Xero to quickly file GST returns, and you will learn about the other features available within the tax returns module also.

Tax Management & Admin

(NZ Only)

Who: Tax Administrators / Practice Manager

 

This session is targeted to tax administrators or managers. Understand the integration the extent of the integration with Inland Revenue, we will also cover how to handle assessments from the Inland Revenue, entering tax loss / IC loss information for clients, general statement options including provisional tax settings and what alerts to be mindful of.

Practice Reports & Report Building

Tax Payment Letters

(NZ Only)

Who: Tax Administrators / Practice Manager / Managers

 

Learn how to make managing tax payment letters simple with quick options for approving, overriding, uplifting, estimating amounts and use features such as bulk email. We will also show you how to view tax payment amounts unapproved through the application menu and also through a customised report.

For larger practices or where there are more staff to cater to, talk to us about extending the length or frequency of the sessions to suit also. You’re welcome to let us know if you have any specific training topics you would like to focus on, or other Xero / XPM topics not mentioned in the schedule, integrations and processes etc. We can tailor training to suit your practice’s requirements.
